My primary area of artistic interest is the human figure in sculptural form. My current focus is on large scale public sculpture. As both a Sculptor and an Architect, my experience in dealing with the design and execution of large scale public projects makes me uniquely qualified for this type of work.
Another area of my interest is interior wall mounted sculpture. These pieces are direct fired in clay using a Japanese "Raku" technique. This involves pulling the piece out of the kiln when it is red hot and burying it in sawdust which ignites to create a black smoke infused look. This results in a richness of color and texture that gives the work an archeological quality that appears to be both ancient and yet familiar.
My Raku pieces are each one of a kind. Most of my small bronzes are available in limited editions. For large scale projects I can design a unique sculpture to fit the needs and interests of the client. I am always interested in meeting with potential clients for an initial consultation without charge.
